Manage a cricket team
If you’re keen to manage one of the club’s teams, we want to hear from you. The role is suited to a non-playing member but may be done by a player, who is looking to take on a bit of responsibility and make a contribution.
Role description
Relationships: Club captain, team captain, gear custodian, members of the team
Purpose: The team manager, in conjunction with the team captain, is responsible for the off-the-field operations of the team.
Key tasks and responsibilities
General
Monitor player availability ahead of each game and inform team captain.
Assist team captain with pre-game drills and warm-ups.
Organise covers to be put on and taken off.
For home games, ensure access to club and changing rooms, delegate putting out stumps, boundary flags, getting lunch sorted, etc.
Maintain team kit, gear, and uniforms.
Retain match balls to be used as practice balls.
Supply the captain with an appropriate match ball.
Ensure there is a basic first aid kit present at all games.
Ensure all players are registered in PlayHQ and allocated to your team.
Organise two post-match host nights at the club.
Be the point of contact for content for club website, newsletter, and social media.
Matchday
Make sure team kit and uniforms are at the ground on match day.
Ensure there are always the required number of scorers.
Organise/delegate throw downs for incoming batsmen.
Organise/delegate drinks for drinks breaks.
When playing at home organise/delegate food and drinks for lunch.
Load scorecard and result to PlayHQ.
Encourage post-match attendance at the club.
Collect white ball uniform, when it is no longer required for the season and return to the club.

An ability to relate well to all members of the team.
Committed to putting the club first, ahead of the team.
Time commitment
Attend all games, particularly in the leadup to the start of the day’s play. If unavailable, communicate this early to the team captain.
